Our Team

 

Drs. Jeff and Susan Abelt met at veterinary school over 30 years ago and their lives have been filled with love and care of animals since. Their four grown children also share their love for animals. They live on a small farm with their dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. They also enjoy training and showing their dogs, Collies and Italian Greyhounds.

Dr. Jeff Abelt

Growing up, Dr. Jeff Abelt always knew he wanted to work closely with animals, his dream was realized in 1986 when he graduated from veterinary school. He specializes in orthopedic work. He’s worked closely with horses in equine facilities and spent a lot of time in clinics, on farms, and at dog and horse shows. His work and hobbies all revolve around animals, where his passion is deeply rooted.

DR. Susan Abelt

Dr. Susan Abelt knew from a young age she wanted to be a vet. She shares her love and experience with the community as a teacher for Youth Summer PreVet classes. She co-authored a paper for the CDC, served on the IACUC and worked as a staff vet at a University for years. Her love for animals is evident at home and at work, and enjoys her sharing her experience and knowledge.

Dr. Williamson

Dr. Williamson grew up on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Having a lifelong passion for animals, she received an undergraduate degree in animal science and aquaculture from Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Agriculture (formerly, Nova Scotia Agricultural College) before going on to complete her DVM at the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island. In 2022 she relocated to Nashville where she has been practicing primarily in small animal medicine. She has a love for all things cats and dogs and is especially passionate about the importance of preventative and wellness medicine. She looks forward to building trusting relationships with both patients and clients while working hard at caring for the health of her patients and the needs of her clients!
