Pet Wellness in Nashville, TN

Preventive Veterinary Care for a Healthier, Longer Life

At Bellevue Animal Hospital in Nashville, TN, our wellness care focuses on prevention, early detection, and personalised guidance at every life stage. We partner with pet families across Nashville, Brentwood, Franklin, Fairview, Kingston Springs, Antioch, Pegram, and Davidson & Williamson Counties to keep pets feeling their best with calm, caring, and practical support.

Routine Wellness Exams

Regular checkups are the foundation of lifelong health. We recommend annual exams for adult pets and twice-yearly visits for seniors. During each visit, we:

  • Perform a nose-to-tail physical exam
  • Review behavior, nutrition, and lifestyle
  • Track weight and body condition
  • Screen for early signs of illness
  • Discuss routine bloodwork and screening as appropriate

Vaccinations

Vaccines protect pets—and people—from preventable disease. We follow AAHA guidelines and tailor vaccine plans to your pet’s lifestyle.

Dogs (core vaccines):

  • Rabies; Distemper/Parvovirus/Adenovirus/Parainfluenza/Leptospirosis (combination)

Cats (core vaccines):

  • Rabies; Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis/Calicivirus/Panleukopenia (combination)

We also offer Bordetella, canine influenza (both strains), Lyme, and FIV when indicated.

Tennessee law requires rabies vaccination for dogs and cats over six months, administered by a licensed veterinarian.

Puppy & Kitten Care

Start strong with an early exam, a tailored vaccination and deworming series, parasite prevention, and nutrition guidance for growth. We’ll also help you plan the right time for spay/neuter and offer practical training tips for a confident, well-adjusted pet.

Microchipping

A microchip—about the size of a grain of rice—is placed just under the skin, much like a vaccine. Chipping early greatly improves the chances of a happy reunion if your pet is ever lost.

More Wellness Care Services

Senior Pet Care

As pets age, their health needs evolve. Smaller breeds are generally considered senior around 10 years old, while large and giant breeds reach senior status closer to 7. Senior wellness care often includes twice-yearly exams, baseline and follow-up bloodwork, pain and arthritis management, and nutrition adjustments to support mobility, weight, and organ health.

Parasite Prevention

Year-round parasite protection is vital for pets in Middle Tennessee. Fleas can cause skin disease and spread tapeworms, while ticks transmit Lyme disease and ehrlichiosis. Heartworm disease is potentially fatal and difficult to treat once it develops. Our veterinarians provide safe, effective preventives tailored to your pet’s lifestyle and environment to keep them protected year-round.

Nutritional Guidance

Food is healthcare. The right diet supports healthy weight and can help manage GI sensitivity, allergies, skin issues, and obesity. We’ll tailor recommendations to your pet’s age, breed, lifestyle, and medical needs.
